Dr John Veltheim

D.C., B.Ac., SrCBI, ATI, BAT, MSI

Dr John Veltheim said, The BodyTalk System is much more than another healthcare system. BodyTalk is not just another form of energy medicine.

The fundamental paradigm of the BodyTalk system is Consciousness based living: This means living life fully aware of the moment. Becoming more aware constitutes a great deal more than simply improving health.

Life is not about controlling the outcomes of what happens in the future. It is about being fully aware of what you do each moment. The understanding from living this way comes from our collective mindful recognition that consciousness guides us into transformation and inner growth.”

Dr John Veltheim was the founder of BodyTalk and co-founder of both the International BodyTalk Association and the International BodyTalk Foundation. Dr Veltheim passed away in Florida USA on 11 November 2022.

He began his healthcare career in 1973 in his homeland of Australia. Formally trained as a chiropractor and acupuncturist, he served as the former Principal of the Brisbane College of Acupuncture and Natural Therapies for five years.

He also made an in-depth study of chiropractic, osteopathy, sports medicine, acupuncture and Chinese medicine, naturopathy, Bio-energetic therapy, Applied Kinesiology and many variations of energy medicine.

He then became a teacher and in many cases a pioneer in the promotion and practice of these modalities. His other areas of expertise include counselling, comparative philosophy, and theology.

He had extensive knowledge in the field of quantum physics and Consciousness and had spent much time lecturing internationally on these topics.

Dr Veltheim discovered the BodyTalk® System in the mid-1990s when his state of health was compromised despite being a leader in the healthcare field in both Eastern and Western methods. He eventually found a simple technique that corrected his condition — and saw this breakthrough as a matter of great importance and proceeded to investigate the techniques and principles involved.

In 1998, he moved to Sarasota, Florida to further his practice and research of BodyTalk. Soon he began to teach advanced levels of the BodyTalk® System to professionals as well as laypeople. When word spread about the successes of this remarkable new healthcare system, he took on the task of training other instructors so the BodyTalk® System could be taught worldwide.

Dr Veltheim wrote numerous magazine and journal articles on BodyTalk and in his other fields of expertise. In 2011, his work was published in the Journal of Alternative Medicine Research. The journal’s publishers were so impressed with Dr Veltheim’s development of BodyTalk that they dedicated an entire volume solely to articles on BodyTalk. [Read articles]

Dr Veltheim was the published author of several books including books on Reiki, acupuncture and BodyTalk. He created the BodyTalk coursework and developed the PaRama BodyTalk program, where science meets healing at the highest level.

Towards the latter years of his life, Dr Veltheim travelled the world, teaching sessions in BodyTalk and its related wellness programs to professionals as well as laypeople. He continued to mentor and train a network of instructors to ensure this remarkable new health care system is taught worldwide.

Dr Veltheim’s work and vision for BodyTalk were supported by an incredible team of practitioners, instructors, staff, scientists, medical specialists, healers, and patients based all over the world.

In the early hours of 11 November 2022, Dr Veltheim died peacefully at home. In his final days, there was a gentleness in him and sweet humour, and he was able to engage with family and friends and, thankfully, remained pain-free.

Dr Veltheim lived a big, brilliant, colourful and, as is the way with most any visionary one hears of, an often tormented life. A few days before dying, he mused, “I hope I haven’t just given people a Band-Aid with BodyTalk; that they won’t use it like a Band-Aid.”

The Home of BodyTalk®

International BodyTalk Association and The BodyTalk® System are internationally recognised, with Members and Instructors in more than 50 countries. The IBA proactively represent the interests of over 3000 members with ongoing support, educational development, awareness, and building recognition from regulating bodies. Membership continues to rapidly grow as BodyTalk is known as a cutting-edge mind-body-consciousness healing modality.

The IBA has had more than 300 certified Instructors, Trainers and Trainees teaching its curricula in BodyTalk in 58 countries with the translation of training materials into nine languages. The three most prominent alternate languages for courses are German, Portuguese and Japanese. The training regimen for Instructors is rigorous, and the certification standards are high to ensure that these powerful courses are taught at the highest professional level possible.

International BodyTalk Foundation supports the research and development of the BodyTalk® System and the education of the health care community and the general public. Click here to visit the IBF website. The IBF fulfils its mission through two branches of programs:

Quantum physics and dynamic systems theory have laid the groundwork for scientifically understanding the impact of focused intent on cellular biophysics. As such, the science of why BodyTalk works is becoming better understood every day. However, the current medical model is not based on quantum physics. And in mainstream medicine, there is no substitute for clinical trials designed and conducted under specific conditions to document whether or not any new drug or therapy or technique is effective or not. In its mission to gain widespread acceptance for the BodyTalk® System, the IBF wants to fund clinical trials and research studies that will document BodyTalk’s effectiveness.

IBF’s Access Outreach program brings BodyTalk Access techniques to people who do not have access to affordable health care of any kind. BodyTalk Access is a program that takes five of the most commonly used techniques from the BodyTalk® System and simplifies their use so that anyone can learn them and use them as a daily health maintenance program. It also includes “Fast-Aid,” a first-aid protocol to assist in helping the body recover from all sorts of minor to major injuries and medical emergencies. So far, 290 Access Trainers have taught Access to 48,783 Access students in 52 countries (2020).

The IBF believes that the Access program can serve to alleviate many of the day-to-day health issues that the average family faces: This will free the strained mainstream healthcare systems to deal with the severe emergencies and complex health issues they handle best.

James L. Oschman, Ph.D., biophysicist, and published author says: “BodyTalk Access describes a deceptively simple process that is urgently needed in all of the developed nations, where healthcare systems are not only failing but are simultaneously pushing toward economic collapse. Access is equally important for Third World nations that are entirely lacking in medical infrastructure – for places where the closest emergency medical care may be many miles away, with no other transportation than walking. John Veltheim has a generosity of spirit that has compelled him to form the International BodyTalk Foundation, which is giving this teaching to many impoverished peoples around the world.”
